Have you taken your medical grade speed today?

A slightly unhinged little reminder for those mornings when you've managed to make a coffee, check your phone, start three unrelated tasks and somehow completely forgotten the one thing you actually needed to remember.

Featuring a cute little rat surrounded by “Have You Taken Your Medical Grade Speed Today?”, this funny vinyl mirror decal is designed to give you a visual nudge to remember your medication — with considerably more personality than an alarm you've already learned to ignore.

Pop it on your bathroom or bedroom mirror so your tiny rat friend can lovingly call you out every morning.

Each decal is cut and weeded by hand by me at Sad Disco Club, then supplied with transfer tape already applied so it's ready for you to stick at home.

Choose your size & colour

Available in black or white vinyl.

  • Small – longest side approx. 10cm
  • Medium – longest side approx. 15cm
  • Large – longest side approx. 20cm

As the proportions vary between designs, the measurement refers to the longest side of the decal.

Where can I stick it?

These decals work best on clean, smooth, non-porous surfaces, including:

  • Mirrors and glass
  • Tiles
  • Cupboards and cabinet doors
  • Smooth painted furniture
  • Smooth sealed surfaces
  • Windows

For this little guy, I'd recommend somewhere you're guaranteed to see him as part of your normal routine — bathroom mirror, bedroom mirror or getting-ready area are all prime rat real estate.

Top tip: textured, dusty, damp or heavily porous surfaces aren't vinyl's best friends, so you'll get the best result on something nice and smooth.

How to apply

Make sure your surface is clean, completely dry and free from grease or dust.

Before peeling anything away, firmly rub over the whole design to make sure the vinyl is properly attached to the transfer tape. A squeegee works best, but the edge of a ruler or credit card will do the job too.

Slowly peel away the backing paper, leaving the vinyl attached to the transfer tape.

Position your decal and press it firmly onto the surface. Using your squeegee, ruler or credit card, firmly rub across the entire design, applying plenty of pressure and paying particular attention to the smaller lettering and details.

Slowly peel the transfer tape back on itself rather than pulling it straight away from the surface.

Being a stubborn little bugger? If any part of the vinyl hasn't stuck as you peel, don't keep pulling. Lay the transfer tape back down and firmly rub over that area again. Sometimes the fiddly bits just need a little extra pressure and patience before they behave.

How to remove

Gently lift an edge of the vinyl and slowly peel it back from the surface.

If it's being stubborn, a little gentle heat from a hairdryer can help soften the adhesive. Any remaining residue can usually be removed using a suitable surface-safe cleaner.
